The Project:
The Emergence Project is an online art gallery and our mission is to promote and sell the work of a select group of emerging, avant-garde artists. The Project is currently seeking submissions. I am especially interested in expanding the site to include fine art photography, drawing, sculpture, installation, fiber, and video art, but I still need more painters as well. I am looking for artists who are contributing the highest quality, orignal, cutting-edge, avant-garde artwork.
I advertise the site and actively promote the artists by different methods, including postcard mailings. One of the main benefits to the participating artists is that I will be utilizing my personal mailing list that I have complied over the years, which includes an extensive number of collectors. My ultimate goal for this project is to set up an exhibition space and organize shows for the participating artists, possibly a traveling exhibition as well, but this will depend on how successful the website is. However, I feel confident that the additional exposure and sales that the artist will receive from the website itself will be compensation enough to participate in this project.

Artists:
I am seeking out emerging artists who have had little or no representation by galleries. A qualified artist will have at least ten gallery-quality artworks completed in a consistent style and available for sale. Artists will be selected based on the quality of their work, not their credentials. I am seeking artists who are dedicated to the role of professional fine artist and who have the potential to become an important part of the art community in the future--the next generation of avant-garde artists. I want to stress that this is an extremely selective project and I will only be including the artists that mesh with the vision of The Emergence Project.
Commission:
I will require a 35% commission on all sales to cover the cost of this project, which includes design and maintenance of a professional website, advertisements, and countless hours of my personal time. Note: this can be added onto your normal retail price. The Emergence Project will give the artist more exposure and credibility, thereby increasing the retail value of the artist’s work. Artists will be free to sell their work by any other means--I am not requiring exclusivity. Contact me for an example of the Artist-Agent Agreement that will be utilized.
Submissions:
The preferred method for submissions is e-mail, but you may send mail submissions if you wish (e-mail me for my address) Please include your artist statement and images of the artwork that is available for this project. At least ten images is preferred, but the minimum is five. I do not accept digital art (see FAQ) Thank you!
